Wider Sixth Form Life
We firmly believe that Sixth Form is not just about your academic studies so you will have lots of other opportunities whilst you are studying with us.
All year 12 students will take part in a core programme for one period each week. During this time, you will participate in activities delivered by both ourselves and expert visitors. This core programme will cover a range of health and wellbeing, study skills and careers topics.
During year 12 all students take part in the enrichment programme on a Wednesday afternoon. This is a chance for you to do something different to develop your skills and knowledge to help you boost your UCAS application and CV. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities including Duke of Edinburgh (Gold), volunteering, sport and adopt a teacher programme.
Whilst in Sixth Form both your tutors and the Sixth Form team will ensure you receive careers advice about the pathways available to you when you leave Sixth Form.
You will attend both the UCAS fair to look at university options and an apprenticeship fair. You will also have access to Unifrog, an award winning careers platform to help you make informed decisions about your future.
We work closely with a number of local universities, including UWE where we are an approved Heading Higher Partner, allowing our students access to a range of widening participation events and giving you a reduced offer of up to 16 UCAS points.*
For students choosing to apply to Oxford and Cambridge, or complete a professional application to medicine or veterinary science, we provide additional support with applications and interviews for these competitive institutions and courses.
For students who do not wish to complete a university application, we have a specific programme to support apprenticeship applications. We work closely with both local and national companies to support students with applying and securing good apprenticeships.
