About the PTA
Downend School supports the social & educational development of nearly 1500 students at any chosen time. The Parent Teacher Association in turn embellishes this support by providing those extras that enrich & stimulate pupils while they are developing through their educational career.
Downend School PTA is aided in the support of the school by its varied membership base and benefits from support from staff at the school, people in the local community and more recently an increased input from the students themselves. Its members are motivated towards raising funds to support the school curriculum and enhance the whole learning experience for all concerned.
Fundraising events are varied & include quiz nights, live bands, ladies nights, horse race nights, auctions & last year the return of the very popular craft fair after a few years absence. All of these events have proven to be increasingly popular and have enabled the wider local community to join together to support its local school and have FUN!

How can you help & get involved
With students leaving the school & new students about to embark on the next stage of their education we are looking for new members to become part of a proactive PTA raising money to benefit all the children as they progress through the school. You do not have to take on a major role within the PTA nor are you expected to attend all of the events or meetings that we hold. Just come along with new ideas & enthusiasm & know that all the money we raise goes back into the school to benefit YOUR children.
