Learning Resource Centre

" What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it feels about education " - Harold Howe

Our Learning Resource Centre, or LRC, is committed to providing a vast collection of multi-media resources in a friendly and supportive environment. Our aim is to facilitate and promote effective research and to foster a lifelong enthusiasm for reading and learning.

The LRC is situated in a bright and modern purpose-built building and is made up of a large library and a separate Video Conferencing Suite / Study Room. The Library can offer the use of twenty-three computers in the ICT area with a printer and photocopier, a separate Sixth Form area, soft seating areas, regular display work to promote reading and additional tables with seating for over thirty students. The LRC's stock consists of various types of reference materials, study guides, periodicals and magazines of popular and academic interest. Plus, of course, a huge collection of books covering many interests and subjects!

The school's Library facilities are managed by a Learning Resource Centre Manager who is available to assist with individual research, group work and recreational reading. Students may borrow books for a period of two weeks.

Library Services Further library resources and services are available through South Glos Libraries. It's free to join and you'll be able to access various resources such as the Oxford Reference Online and Oxford Art Online.
