Training

TECHLINK TRAINING
Downend School hosted training for five of our partner primary schools in June 2008. We were contacted by David Barnard from the Medlock Trust with an offer of equipment and training for the primary schools within our liaison group.
The Medlock Trust is based in Bath and actively supports primary and secondary schools in the delivery of the Design Technology curriculum. The equipment is part of the ‘Techlink Scheme’ - www.techlinkinschools.com
We were given six sets of CAD/CAM equipment – this will enable primary pupils to design and make a huge variety of models from a range of materials. Downend was also given a set of equipment and this will be used by students at Key Stage 3 and 4. The staff spent the morning learning how to use the equipment and were then very keen to take the kits back to their primaries and get them into use.
